The Nows Nous...

Surviving for ten decades,
The thought does torment,
Knowing in what life trades,
Vicissitudes ever vehement.

Yet, some do succeed,
In living a life we do envy,
Before we do proceed,
To being awed, and ask:
What has them freed,
From our routine ennui?
 the query, a need,
That's worn many a mask.

Looking at beaming flowers,
We've wondered for ages,
Why their joy never sours,

Even as the weather rages;
Do they bloom with nous,
Hard earned by a few seers?
Living through the nows,
That make the hours and years?
