Will You Let Me Adore You?

A lot in my thought traffic,
And I'm impelled to jaywalk;
I've got no specific topic,
Still, with you, I want to talk.

Not because you're an oracle,
Not that you'd ever want to be;
I want to share your chuckle,
Have you, hear you, laugh with me.

I want to know the many tones,
That tinge your carefree speech;

I know both of us have phones,
Yet, much of you is out of reach -

What your eyes have to say,
What your fingers, to drum,

Your flair for amusing wordplay,
The wordless tunes you hum;
Honest debates on every view,
Taking in a bit more of what's true;
Long trips on the smile train,
No thought of loss, or of gain,
A cup of coffee, freshly brewed,
And the refills, endlessly queued...

Will you just let me adore you,
For it is really the best I can do?

Will you just let me adore you,
Though much more to you is due?
