I had chants to mouth,
Made pledges to appease,
My hopes diving south,
I was desperate for peace.
I went to many a shrine,
Braved all fervent swarms,
For a dekko of the Divine,
In quite a few known forms.
Offering basil and flowers,
Fruits, vermilion and turmeric,
I had invoked the powers,
Seeking a resolution, and quick.
My wish finally fulfilled,
It's only fair I offer thanks;
But, who is it who willed,
An end to His own pranks?
Made pledges to appease,
My hopes diving south,
I was desperate for peace.
I went to many a shrine,
Braved all fervent swarms,
For a dekko of the Divine,
In quite a few known forms.
Offering basil and flowers,
Fruits, vermilion and turmeric,
I had invoked the powers,
Seeking a resolution, and quick.
My wish finally fulfilled,
It's only fair I offer thanks;
But, who is it who willed,
An end to His own pranks?
