An Apology Of Indolence...

As I sip my coffee,
And don't gulp it down,
The paper before me,
Seeming to turn brown,
I feel them getting colder,
The coffee and your stare,
I may shrug my shoulder,
But, I assure you, I care.

When I finally set the cup,
I can almost hear you sigh,
Till I never seem to get up,
And your joy I do deny.

You finally crack the whip,
Pull me up for being lazy,
But, in vigour, I would flip,

Become compulsively crazy.

Sanitizing the money in change,
Sterilizing the fork and spoon,
Scouting for a morsel strange,
At lunch, a quarter past noon;

Measuring the air temperature,
And the amount of water I drink,
Though nascent is this caricature,

I'd better remain a laggard, I think.
