A Semblance Of Permanence...

My words, they’ve always been few,
Yet, uneasy now is the silence;
My thoughts, they jump the queue,
Their commotion, it’s so dense.

Love and bond and communion,
Scruples and motives and sin,
Things I believed to be in oblivion,
I can hear them squabbling to win.

I have read many a trailblazer,
Ridicule the mind in many a pun,
Only for me to feel like a stargazer,
Squinting under the midday sun.

Just a semblance of permanence,
I feel, will cure this badgering bout
– Not the greatest act of deference,
I know, to the timeless divine clout.

But, it is my immediate need,
A boost to my flagging fortitude,
That longing for a love I may cede,
Yet love, live fearless of solitude.
