I could not but dillydally,
My mind would be for it,
Then, against it, it would rally,
Dumbing me by numbing my wit.
My mind would be for it,
Then, against it, it would rally,
Dumbing me by numbing my wit.
This was joy I had to share,
An honour I had to bare,
But not seem pompous and vain,
Needed was a rainbow sans the rain.
An honour I had to bare,
But not seem pompous and vain,
Needed was a rainbow sans the rain.
I hadn’t cut a caper,
Yet, many a newspaper,
Had me peeking from a nook,
Unnoticed by the cursory look,
Of a sleepy Saturday morn,
The focus almost forlorn.
Humbly, for this must be told,
I ask you to kindly behold,
Er...my prized disc of Gold,
Special, for the metallic mould,
Was neither bought, nor sold...
