The orange streak ran,
Giving way to the blue,
Birds flew, in many a clan,
Not revealing where to.
At first, enqueued,
Words soon thronged,
As we argued,
Who'd been wronged.
Then, to the West,
came the pair,
Her hand gloved in his,
They did stare,
As if we were both remiss.
Whatever had caused
Our winner-less bout,
It had to be paused,
Stifled was the shout.
Soon they strolled
- a circuit about the lake,
Our war gone cold,
Whosever the mistake,
We agreed to disagree,
And stalked them, didn't we?
They'd turn to each other,
While walking together,
Neither face did crinkle,
The eyes didn't twinkle,
A smile wouldn't arise,
No slips in the guise,
The arms were ever linked,
Whether they stretched,
or shrinked...
There seemed a constant urge,
To enjoy the other's presence,
Devoid of any momentary surge,
Nothing challenging the silence.
Were their attitudes true?
Is that what we should aspire to?
Or, was it just a sunny day?
