We, The People Of India...

We need not a day to love,

Or the charity of tech know-how;

For togetherness, we ever strive,

Revitalising bonds, keeping them alive.

Not to be measured by our missiles,

History won't try us for any sins;

We are amicable- not docile-

Why wage wars for facile wins?

Prayers for peace mark our profile,

Along with the focus on battles within.

Our beliefs differ- llike the spoken tongues,

Yet we grasp, live in harmony;

For, when the word from the heart has sprung,

The bigotry's buried, despite the many.

Our joys kindled by the smallest things,

And pride unslaved by strife,

Rejoice World, as we, in chorus, sing,

The hymns on how to savour life.

PS: This does not define an 'INDIAN', for it is more a spirit- than a person- one which is ever ready to change with the times and branch out without disconnecting from its roots.
